My post today is probably off topic but I just had to write about my thoughts the last few days. Actually I think my year abroad made me think about these things and made me express my own opinion. Like I said MY opinion. It's my opinion and I don't ask you to agree what I think I just want that you accept my opinion. I don't mean to offend anyone and I don't mean to hurt the feelings of anyone.
Okay, so the last few days I was looking at my life and what I have accomplished so far. And I was like: Wow, god actually treated me pretty good. And I mean not everybody has the opportunity to go one year to America and live an awesome life like I do. Of course not everything is 'awesome' but I never had to deal wit dramatic life events.
People always have been judgmental and will always be judgmental. That's just the way we are and that's in my opinion pretty sad. I don't care if you're tall, short, fat, skinny, black, white or whatever. But for some people it seems like they can't live without judging people. There is this one quote and I can't remember all of it but it said that if you're not pretty than people probably will never care how nice you are. When I read this quote I just thought about all these people of the world who can't change their looks because of an accident, eating disorder or whatever. I will never hate you but if you judge people just by their looks I will most likely don't agree with you. If you don't like somebody then find at least one reason why you hate them. But at the same time just think about what that person has, or is good at.
For all the people who are not satisfied with their life. This man was born without arms and legs. He has a little leg which he calls his 'chicken drumstick'. This man has accomplished a lot in his life and he always sees the positive in life.:)
Another thing that I don't like about people is that they judge you if you drink alcohol or don't . If you party you are cool but if you don't party you are still cool. Some call people who party trashy and the 'party people' call the 'not partying people' not fun. I think you can have fun with or without alcohol. If your religion tells you not to I accept in what you believe in. But please don't persuade the people who have a different point of view. I think everybody is responsible for themselves and can make their own decisions.
I don't say that alcohol isn't bad for you but her an example:
You live a healthy life, eat healthy, do a lot of sports, don't drink soda at all, and are skinny and drink alcohol from time to time.
Or:
You live an unhealthy life, eat only fast food, don't do any sports, drink only soda, and are a little overweight and don't drink alcohol at all.
Now I wonder which life is worse? I would say the healthy life with a little alcohol is still healthier than the life with only junk food.
I hope this post made a few people think about themselves and how they act.

Don't hate. Appreciate.
You only life once. But if you do it right once is enough.

Hey! I love this. Also, the guy without arms or legs is amazing isn't he? It's incredible how positive he is with half a body, while so many of us walk around completely healthy and are so disappointed with our completely awesome lives.
AntwortenLöschenIt really is just all about the power of your attitude. I don't know what it's been like for you coming into the tiny town of Parowan from a different religion and different country. I know I felt judged half the time I lived there because I didn't play sports, and I didn't dance on the drill team. I just wanted to break free so much from that little place because so many people haven't seen the world, they've just seen Parowan and it's 2500 people.
They know nothing about life or how beautiful the world and it's diversity is. I hope you're having a blast in Parowan. But if you're not, remember all those people if they're judging, it's just because they haven't gotten to see the world yet. When they do, it will change them forever. You're just several steps ahead of them in the game.
